I told my husband I wanted a hot-air balloon photo prop. So, he put his welding skills to use to make this for me. He gave me the frame and I decorated it with pennant flags and a giant "water" balloon I got from Amazon, and fishing net I got from eBay. I found the big basket (which was surprisingly not easy to find) at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
My first attempts to inflate the balloon for a photoshoot didn't go so well. It took 2 days with a tiny air compressor, and by the time the balloon was inflated, the wind whipped it away and it popped on a brittle blade of grass. I brought the big-boy air compressor along the next day and got the balloon inflated and firmly secured within minutes, just in time for my photoshoot.
