Some of you know me as a singer/songwriter. But what you may not know is that I'm also a painter and illustrator. This is a time-lapse video I made of my latest project -- painting a mural in my son's "big boy" room. It took me 5 months to complete. It's themed after my forthcoming children's book, Rumble's Farm. I started with a pencil sketch, then manually digitized and airbrushed the sketch with Illustrator and Photoshop.  We used a projector to trace the computer art I created onto the wall. (Better painters would be able to eyeball it. I'm not one of those painters.)

Wish I'd had the opportunity to leave my camera set up in one location for the entire duration of the project for that true time-lapse feel, but I am constantly using it for photography. So, it got moved a lot.

The accompanying audio track is a rough of my song "My House Has Come Alive." I recorded it really late one night in a darkened room using my iphone after everyone in my house had gone to sleep -- the only time my house is quiet. I was beyond tired when I recorded it, so it's far from perfect. I should've been sleeping like everyone else, but sometimes you've just gotta play when the feeling strikes.
